MUSIC ED FEST

Our Story

In 2015, a seed was planted — in the minds and hearts of young Dominican musicians.

During a weekend retreat near the town of Baní, Dominican Republic, a group of passionate young adults discovered something transformative. They learned to read music, perform as soloists and ensemble members, and, most importantly, to dream big — about music as a vocation, an education, and a source of spiritual growth.

Their excitement and talent blossomed into Music Ed Fest, a celebration of music, learning, and cultural exchange held at the prestigious UNPHU Auditorium in Santo Domingo. There, students explored the richness of Dominican musical heritage, experienced the creativity of American jazz, and learned directly from their musical heroes—both on stage and in life.

They performed alongside mentors, built lifelong friendships, and some even turned those opportunities into professional music careers—studying at the National Conservatory of Music and universities abroad. A few took their dreams even further, traveling to Indiana for an unforgettable cultural exchange experience.

That first spark has grown into a thriving movement of inspiration, education, and opportunity. With your support, Music Ed Fest continues to open doors for the next generation of Dominican musicians—nurturing talent, building community, and changing lives through the power of music.
